In recent years, the Canadians’ list of clients has ranged from Indonesia to the United Arab Emirates. The duelling mints are also business rivals who rely on developing new technologies in order to secure contracts around the world. Their demands have been countered with another lawsuit – this week the Australian government filed a counter claim asking that the Canadian patent be declared invalid on the grounds that it is not enough of a “novelty” over what has been done previously. ![]() While the coins in question include 12 colourful designs printed on an estimated 15m coins, the Canadian mint said it is not seeking the destruction of any coins already in circulation. Recently, the Canadian mint expanded its lawsuit to include several other $2 coins, including a 2017 release featuring designs from Possum Magic and Olympic-themed coins. Although, I’m not the best person to judge on that but I really did appreciate it. While the romance aspect kind of fell flat for me, I love how the book tackled black inclusivity and positivity. I feel like this book was more about building Zora’s character. As for Owen, I wish I’d seen more from his side of the family. Enter Daisy Winters, a regular American girl whose sister just happens to be about to marry the Crown Prince of Scotland. In this excellent world she’s crafted, Scotland has its very own monarchy. I like Zora’s relationship with her family, especially with her brother, Zach. Originally published as simply Royals, New York Times bestselling author Rachel Hawkins writes the perfect romance with a wee bit of a twist. At first, Zora didn’t know that Owen was a prince and once she did, she’s suddenly thrust into the spotlight. Owen can be the most charming as he can be and very much a gentleman but can level with Zora’s banter. ![]() She’s enrolled in a Summer Program at Halstead where she meets Owen in a library. I love Zora’s character because she’s independent, smart, a feminist and activist as well. ![]() I was truly excited to read this because I haven’t read any book with royalties in a long while and I’m glad that Zora and Owen hit it off right from the start. Add the fact that this was inspired by Harry and Meghan’s love story. ![]() I’d be lying if I didn’t say that half of the reason why I read this was because it’s a royal romance, but seeing an interracial royal YA couple on the cover really caught my attention. ![]() ![]() ![]() The inconvenience of Lucien Langdon's title means that Frannie feels she's not able to marry him The plot isn't particularly complex: the Earl of Claybourne, a boy who lived as a thief on the streets of London as a youth before being found by his grandfather after killing a man who turned out to be his uncle, wants to marry his childhood love, Frannie, who worked in their thieving gang. ItĬontains elements that most other historical romances set in Victorian times do - nobility, country estates, seedy parts of London, etc. ![]() ![]() In Bed with the Devil, despite the rather corny title (which, for once, actually reflects the contents of the book), is a very good story. Most are fairly mediocre with little characterization and a scanty plot Nothing unusual here dozens of books that look just like this one are published every month. Another paperback with a picture of a woman whose clothes appear to be falling off, a manly man whose clothes have already fallen off, author's name and title written in a curly font, pastel background colors and a cheesy title. I also didn’t find the ending quite as promising as the first half of the book. When he goes back to Viet Nam, however, the plot slows down to a snail’s pace. I enjoyed reading about the struggles of a Vietnamese immigrant who has to find himself in a new country, battling Hollywood stereotypes. Luckily, the whole book is very lyrical and well written. I was very divided on The Sympathizer by Viet Thanh Nguyen, half the book was very interesting, the other half bored me to death and I couldn’t wait to finish it already.
